Patent Attorney Ryan J. Cann has experience working with all types of businesses and creative people to protect their intellectual property. He has obtained patents and trademarks for solo-inventors, entrepreneurs, venture-funded startup companies, universities, and large corporations. Ryan grew up in New Jersey and was educated on the East Coast. After law school, Ryan relocated out West to get married and to work for a Reno intellectual property firm writing patents and filing trademarks. Ryan has been in Reno ever since, founding Cann IP Law PLLC in 2015 in order to help entrepreneurs and established companies protect their technological and creative intellectual property.

In addition to his patent and trademark practice, Attorney Ryan J. Cann serves the local community by appearing in Northern Nevada courts to represent clients in Family Law matters. Cann Family Law practice (primarily focused on TPO hearings) allows Attorney Ryan J. Cann to maintain sharpness in the courtroom and to give back by helping Northern Nevada families navigate difficult situations.

Kevin J. Cann, PhD, is a world expert in organic chemistry, and in particular on commercial polymer production. He is the named inventor on over 45 patents granted and issued by the USPTO, plus 15 patent applications that are currently pending. After a distinguished 35 year career working as a corporate scientist in the plastics industry, Dr. Cann retired and now provides his scientific expertise on a consulting basis to companies and universities worldwide. Dr. Cann uses his firsthand knowledge of the patent process and his scientific expertise to assist Cann IP clients obtain high quality patents, both in the chemical arts and in other technology areas.
